In United States v. Moran, 349 F Supp 2d 425 (ND NY 2005), the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York held that a warrant is not required where law enforcement installs a GPS device on a vehicle to track its movements. The court therefore denied defendant’s motion to suppress evidence obtained as a result of law enforcement’s installation of a GPS device attached to his vehicle. (United States v. Moran, 349 F Supp 2d at 467-468.)
